Prerequisites
Ideal candidates for the social work program are students who have earned an associate's degree or equivalent hours and are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree. To transfer to the KU Edwards B.S.W. program, you must apply to KU and to the School of Social Welfare. KU accepts 64 credit hours from community colleges. Courses required prior to entering the program: English, language facility, math, western civilization, biology, U.S. cultural systems, intercultural studies and social sciences. Remaining liberal arts classes can be taken in Lawrence, at the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park or by KU Independent Study. Note: Transfer credit will not be awarded for courses where a grade of D+ or below was earned.
